20 weeks | Baby 2 .0

HALFWAY!!
Seriously? How did that happen?!

What's new?
Baby girl is halfway done!
She's working on creating the meconium that we will be oh so blessed to experience upon her first diaper change or two.
Her little lady parts are fully formed and functioning.
She's learning how to swallow as well.

How far along? 20 weeks

Baby's size? banana - about 6.5 inches in size from crown to baby butt - 10 inches from head to toe

Total weight gain: 11.5 pounds, yikes!

Maternity clothes? Yep. I'm officially wearing maternity clothes more than half the time.

Sleep: It still going well, knock on wood!

Best moments this past week: The entire week was great! It was full of several birthday celebrations with all my favorite people and the fun isn't even over yet! I also found out that the school I recently left to become a SAHM won several awards this week based off of last year. There were quite a few awards, but one of the biggest being Imagine School's NATIONAL school of the year. This award is such a great honor and I'm so proud of the staff I worked with to make it come true. Also, my 3rd grade team from last year earned 3rd place for highest student growth. Those that know me, know that this wasn't an easy feat. Last year was rough, but even so I loved those kiddos and I'm SO proud of how far they came.

Miss Anything? Nope!

Movement: Yep. I still only feel her kicking when I'm laying down at this point, but I'm grateful for feeling anything at all with my anterior placenta.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really. I still get random waves of nausea every once in a while. Food typically doesn't sound good though, so I still struggle eating from time to time. No clue where all these lbs are coming from, though I'm sure the mounds-literally- of Starburst aren't helping!

Labor Signs: Technically, no. The Braxton hicks contractions seem to have simmered down too.

Gender: Peanut is most certainly a girl. We're still debating between a couple names. Hopefully she'll have one by delivery day! ;)

Symptoms: Not much. I have a lot more energy, which is freaking great. It's about time!

Belly Button in or out? It's still halfway there.

Wedding rings on or off? on

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!

Looking forward to: Starting the nursery. We've ordered our furniture and the crib already came in -- shocker considering how long we had to wait for Ellie's furniture. We bought all the paint today and JP started clearing out the office/workout room to make room for the new nursery.

20 weeks

I'm seriously terrified of the size that is yet to come if I'm already this big and this babe is only half baked!! Please no judging from her on out, folks.

29 Years | 29 Things

In light of my 29 birthday yesterday and trying (failing) to be a more frequent blogger, I decided to share 29 things with you, my two readers!

In no particular order, 29 things about the woman behind the live.laugh.love.baby.

1. I love Britney Spears. No shame.

2. The spicier, the better. Everything.

3. I'm a total wino. I'd gladly pass up any other beverage if it were socially acceptable to drink wine with all meals. Kidding, people!

4. I have an irrational fear of bees. It's real bad.

5. I'm obsessed with all holidays and color coordinating outfits for each.
My poor girls are doomed - holiday and sister coordinating outfits?! Yes, please!

6. I am extremely indecisive and struggle to make most decisions.

7. I changed my major 3 times before settling on education. Point proven.

8. I'm really crafty, but give me a needle and thread and I'm screwed.

9. Dirty Dancing will always be my favorite movie of all time.

10. My husband and I were good friends for an entire year before deciding to go on our first date.

11. I am double jointed in my arms.

12. I have an unhealthy obsession with Hot Tamales and Buffalo Wing Pretzel Bites.

13. I danced and played softball growing up.

14. I graduated at the top of my class - Summa cum Laude, thank you very much. ;)

15. I've been to most tropical beach destinations in Mexico.

16. I've lost and gained friendships over the years, but I can confidently say that in the midst of all of this, I learned what a true friend is and am thankful to have few friends that I call my BEST.

17. I am extremely emotional and take to heart (both happy and sad) things I read, hear, and watch, even when it has nothing to do with me.

18. I taught 1st-4th grades for 6 years.

19. I despise, like really despise doing laundry. Worst chore ever!

20. I can't stand most of today's Disney movies. Bring back the classics please.

21. I can say the alphabet backwards.

22. I could probably live off of sandwiches. And sushi. And wine.

23. I finally have my dream job, a SAHM.

24. I want to write children's books someday. I have the ideas - I just need to put pen to paper.

25. I am the best person I know at flip cup, thank you my young-twenty-something-self.

26. I have a very type-A personality and tend to struggle going with the flow.

27. I love being pregnant after first tri. Even better, I'm one of those.
I loved labor, delivery, and my hospital stay. I can't wait to do it again!

28. Though I'm exactly where I wanted to be by 29, I'm terrified of 30.

29. I was given the greatest gift on Earth; the gift of motherhood.

19 weeks | Baby 2 .0

(a teeny tiny bit late -- written Saturday)

What's new?
Baby GIRL is starting to grow hair on her beautiful little head.
Her brain is rapidly growing and developing sensory skills.
Her legs and arms are now proportionate to the rest of her body.
All of her organs are absolutely perfect and according to the ultrasound tech at our anatomy scan this week, she's textbook perfect.
Duhhh, as if we didn't know that already.

How far along? 19 weeks

Baby's size? mango, yum!!  - about 6 inches in length

Total weight gain: 10 pounds

Maternity clothes? Yep. I'm officially wearing maternity clothes more than half the time.

Sleep: It's been getting much better, hallelujah!

Best moments this past week: Finding out this sweet girl is perfectly healthy at our anatomy scan was hands down the best moment, though date night dinner at Benihanna and ordering all of our nursery furniture comes in second. :)

Miss Anything? Nope!

Movement: Up until the past couple of days, I'd only been feeling the very occasional rolling like movements. We found out at my anatomy scan that I have an anterior placenta, which makes total sense. I wasn't expecting to feel much for at least another month or so, but lo and behold! This sweet princess starting kicking me tonight. I can only feel it when I'm laying down, but even Daddy got to feel her for the first time!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope. My appetite seems to have disappeared though yet again. I typically only want one food for each meal and if I'm not able to have it, then I'm not hungry. This never happened with Ellie, so it can be frustrating, but at least I'm still gaining weight!

Labor Signs: Technically, no. The Braxton hicks contractions seem to have simmered down too.

Gender: Well, my mama instincts are one for two! This babe is a GIRL!

Symptoms: Nada! I honestly don't really feel anything pregnancy related. If I didn't have a belly growing outward by the second, I'd never know.

Belly Button in or out? It's still halfway there.

Wedding rings on or off? on

Happy or Moody most of the time: Typically, very happy. But the last couple days have been really emotional.

Looking forward to: Celebrating my birthday this week! Lots of fun dinners planned with friends and family. :)

18 weeks | Baby 2 .0

What's new?
Peanut is very active -- rolling, twisting, kicking, punching, etc.
Baby's gotta' do something to pass the time, I suppose!
Baby is also yawning, hiccupping, and sucking.
His boy parts (or her lady parts) are officially in place and visible. :)
Baby weighs almost 7 ounces!

How far along? 18 weeks

Baby's size? sweet potato, Ellie would approve ;)  - a little over 5.5 inches in length

Total weight gain: 8 pounds

Maternity clothes? Yep. I'm officially wearing maternity clothes more than half the time.

Sleep: It's been getting much better, hallelujah!

Best moments this past week: My mom came over and spent yesterday afternoon with Ellie. I left for some ME time and it was uh-mazing! I LOVE my sweet girl, but I'm with her 99.9% of every day. It was nice to get out and shop alone. I spent a good chunk of change, but got SO many winter and next spring clothes for Ellie and Peanut. The sales right now are ridiculous folks, you neeeed to go shopping!

Miss Anything? It was a rough week with Miss Ellie (she's at the ultimate stage-5 clinger phase), so I would have loooved to have a glass of wine. Or two. Or four.

Movement: I feel Peanut moving around to different spots and my belly gets really hard, but still no legit kicks.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope. My appetite is pretty much back in full swing though, so I presume the pounds are surely to follow.

Labor Signs: Technically, no. I still get occasional Braxton Hicks contractions.

Gender: Still 110% positive it's a boy according to my mama instincts. :)

Symptoms: This is the first week where I can say, not much. I hardly have any symptoms. I feel like myself. I have energy, the headaches are very few and far between. No nausea. Sleep has been great. I think it took a little longer this time around, but I'm finally back to totally loving pregnancy! (I always have, but it's hard to enjoy it first trimester...)

Belly Button in or out? It's still halfway there.

Wedding rings on or off? on

Happy or Moody most of the time: HAPPY!!!

Looking forward to: Date night with two of our favorites tonight and finding out Peanut's sex at our anatomy scan on Wednesday, then sharing the news with family and friends.

17 weeks | Baby 2 .0

What's new?
Peanut has his or her very own fingerprints.
Baby has started putting on some lbs.
Cartilage is turning into bone.

How far along? 17 weeks (as of Saturday)
Baby's size? onion (yuck!) - a little over 5 inches in length
Total weight gain: 7ish pounds - not entirely sure (I want to know) after our vacation this weekend.

Maternity clothes? Yep. I'm officially wearing maternity clothes more than half the time.

Sleep: Great one night, not so much the next.

Best moments this past week: We had several birthday celebrations for my sweet husband this past week. We also had an amazing 4-day weekend at the Flagstaff cabin. We've made our 4th of July celebration an annual one, spending the day/evening at the country club. We love this little tradition of ours and enjoyed a weekend full of cool weather, games, good food, fireworks, family, drinks (for eveeeeryone else, but me!) and fun!
Miss Anything? I would have liked to enjoy a glass of wine or two on the Fourth, but the desire has passed and I'm still doing A-Okay without alcohol.

Movement: I still feel itty bitty flutters when I'm laying down, but there haven't been any indefinite kicks just yet.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope. I think I'm slowly getting my appetite back though, so that's a plus!

Labor Signs: Technically, no. I still get occasional Braxton Hicks contractions.
Gender: Still 110% positive it's a boy according to my mama instincts. :) We'll find out for sure on July 16th!

Symptoms: I'm finally starting to feel a lot more like myself. Thank goodness!
Belly Button in or out? It's more than half way out and occasionally noticeable through my shirt. Seriously?? How did that happen already?!

Wedding rings on or off? on

Happy or Moody most of the time: HAPPY!!!

Looking forward to: Our Chicago vacation. We aren't going until the end of August, but it's on my mind since we just booked our tickets this week. I love that we're able to travel with Ellie and experience new vacations with her. :)

17 weeks

No chalkboard picture this week since we were in Flagstaff.
The greenery backdrop will have to do instead.
