Emerson | 5 months

My sweet Emerson babe is FIVE months!!
Guys.. they weren't kidding when they said time goes by quickly. I feel like it's going by even faster than it did with Ellie which is not okay! With Em's deep hatred for sleep, she has just about solidified the idea of a third child. Ain't gonna happen, people. So, I need time to just go ahead and stop so that I can enjoy every last second of this little babe, likely my last.

Starting to sit up!

growth
She's weighing in at about 17 pounds.

eating
She's still my little snacker. I try hard to space out her feedings, but sometimes.. it just doesn't work. I need to get better about putting forth more effort here.

sleeping
I LOVE this little peanut so, so much.. but OH MY GOSH. You guys. This kid hates sleeping!!! Her naps are down to maybe 30 minutes a day and that usually includes me going back in to get her back to sleep at least once. I honestly lose track how often she wakes during the night. But it's a lot. I am exhausted. 5ish hours of sleep has become the new norm. Unfortunately.

Well, as much as we struggle in the world of sleep, she certainly (almost) makes up for it with her happy, bubbly personality. Everywhere we go, people are always commenting on how she's the happiest, most smiley baby. That's the truth. She let's random people she's never met hold her and she still smiles away. It's so refreshing after having a baby that wouldn't let a soul touch her unless it was mom or dad.

 new developments
She's rolling a ton from belly to back and occasionally from tummy to back. She's sitting up for short periods of time, though it's never more than a minute before she face plants. She can officially hold her own bottles as well.

Her first love, mama, still remains. But she also loves watching Ellie and Lily play around the house, being worn (this is the only time she'll sleep for more than a 30 minute span), sitting up and standing, being talked to, and baths.

SLEEP.

This was from Mother's Day.. and poor Ellie was super sick, hence her missing from these photos.

Emerson | 4 months

The four month phase is one of my favorites, it seems to be the period in which they really start to show some true personality and make new developments, despite the horrible terrible no good 4 month sleep regression. One thing certainly hasn't changed -- she's the cutest baby ever!!

growth
She's weighing in at 15 pounds 3 ounces.

eating
She still isn't super consistent with eating during the day and I think it's because she's a total snacker (hmmmm, wonder where she gets THAT from..). She'll nurse for 5 minutes and be done, then expect more 30 minutes later or 2 hours later. She definitely tends to go longer at night, usually every 3-4 hours or so.

sleeping
We SEEM to be in a pretty good routine at the moment. She still takes 3 naps a day, a morning, afternoon, and evening. They still don't last more than 40 minutes most of the time. BUT I think we're (maybepleaseprettypleasedon'tletthisbeaphase) getting better at night. She's going down for the night around 9 and we've gotten a few 3ish hour stretches, but she continues to wake up more times than I can count all night long.

She's still the happiest baby ever when she's not tired or hungry. She loves people and being talked to. She'll let people she doesn't know hold her, which is SO different than Ellie. Miss Emerson is just a super easy going baby!

 new developments
She has started rolling again after a 3 week hiatus. She has recently discovered her feet and loves playing with them, especially when she's in the bumbo. She's trying SO hard to sit up on her own. She can do it for maybe 10ish seconds before face planting. She's grabbing everything, which instantly goes into her mouth. Her newest thing is grabbing at our faces and sticking her hands in our mouths. Sanitary? Probably not. Adorable? Definitely.

Mama! She is SUCH a mama's girl. She loves walks, playing with her toys, baths, when people talk to her, Lily (our Maltese), sitting or standing, and sleeping on her tummy. And I'm pretty sure her favorite place is tucked inside a carrier on me.

Anyone other than Mommy putting her to bed, being hungry, and red lights.

We decided against the mall Easter bunny with plans to see the bunny at this even.
Clearly, that was a bad decision on our part.

Someone didn't get the picture memo...
