17 weeks | Baby 3.0

The Latest and Greatest

Baby girl's itty bitty skeleton is hardening into bone rather than the soft
cartilage and he's moving like crazy! Nothing too exciting this week.

How far along? 17 weeks

Baby's size: About 5 inches and 5 ounces--the size of a turnip

Total weight gain: 8 pounds; after a 2.5 loss from the 30 hour flu, I gained it back. Boo!

Maternity clothes: Yep!

Sleep: Either great or awful, no where in between.

Best moments this past week: We took the girls and my mom to a Diamondbacks game last night and we had a great time. It was the perfect little family + nana date night!

Missing: ALLTHEWINE. I don't foresee this answer changing anytime soon ever.

Movement: Still feeling faint little kicks on occasion, but they can't be felt from the outside just yet.

Labor signs: Nope!

Baby's sex: GIRL!

Symptoms: Other than a rough night with round ligament pain (a first for me) earlier this week, I feel great. This isn't my first (or second) rodeo folks, but I legitimately would have gone to the hospital thinking I was in labor had it been toward the end of my pregnancy. That 4 hour long contraction pain was NO JOKE and I pray to sweet baby Jesus that the next time I'm feeling pain like that it's because I'm in labor and at least 38-39 weeks.

Aversions/Craving: Still obsessed with sour punch straws, ice cream, and Chinese food. Healthy, I know.

Belly button: In

Wedding rings: On

Mood: Amazing!

Looking forward to: Next weekend! Our dear friends are getting married and my excitement may or may not include JP's best man speech, which is bound to be epic.

SEVENTEEN WEEKS!

16 weeks | Baby 3.0

The Latest and Greatest

Baby girl's legs are more developed, her head is more upright, and her eyes are more centered on her head. She's started growing little baby piggy toenails that will match her sisters in bright pink someday! Her heart is pumping 25 quarts a day already!!

How far along? 16 weeks

Baby's size: About 4.5 inches and 3.5 ounces--the size of an avocado

Total weight gain: 8 pounds

Maternity clothes: Yep!

Sleep: So-so.

Best moments this past week: Finding out that one of my very best friends got engaged this weekend! They're seriously the cutest couple and I can't think of anyone else more deserving. I'm so, so happy for them!

Missing: ALLTHEWINE. I don't foresee this answer changing anytime soon ever.

Movement: Still feeling faint little movements inside, nothing drastic yet.

Labor signs: Nope!

Baby's sex: GIRL! Name TBD...

Symptoms: Other than exhaustion, I honestly don't feel pregnant at this point. Looks wise, that's another story.

Aversions/Craving: Still obsessed with sour punch straws and the latest and greatest, Chinese food.

Belly button: In

Wedding rings: On

Mood: My hormones have finally calmed down and I feel normal again, minus the stress factor at work. Being the instructional coach, I'm also the testing coordinator and we take our state standardized test in a week. It's been really overwhelming! I'll be SO happy when it's over!

Looking forward to: One of our closest friends (JP's BEST friend) gets married in two weeks and I.CANNOT.WAIT! Even though I'll be the sober Sally...

SIXTEEN WEEKS!

15 weeks | Baby 3.0

The Latest and Greatest

Baby girl's lungs are beginning to develop. Her legs are now longer than her arms and she can move all her joints and limbs. She can now sense light, though her eyelids are still closed. She's also forming taste buds.

How far along? 15 weeks

Baby's size: About 4 inches and 2.5 ounces--the size of an apple

Total weight gain: 7 pounds (HOW did that happen??!)

Maternity clothes: Yep!

Sleep: Okay--still up at least twice a night to pee and my children have decided it's time to party at 5-5:30am.

Best moments this past week: Celebrating Easter with my sweet babes today has topped the list. I seem to have pinched a nerve or pulled a muscle in my back, which has been rather miserable, but the excitement in the eyes of my two pretty little bunnies with each of their Easter egg hunts and baskets was worth it. I've always been a big fan of the holidays, but they've just become SO much greater since having my girls. I can't believe there will be a THIRD bunny by this time next year. Ahhhh!

Missing: ALLTHEWINE. I don't foresee this answer changing anytime soon ever.

Movement: I definitely feel little mini kicks inside. They're still few and far between and I can't feel them from the outside, but I'm positive it's her!

Labor signs: Nope!

Baby's sex: GIRL! Name TBD...

Symptoms: Still just tired.. that's about it!

Aversions/Craving: I'm still loving allthecoldthings, but my newest obsession are strawberry sour punch straws. I can't seem to get enough!

Belly button: In

Wedding rings: On

Mood: My hormones have finally calmed down and I've felt much more normal this week!

Looking forward to: Next weekend! We don't have much planned, which is exactly what I need after a weekend of constantly being on the go.

FIFTEEN WEEKS!

14 weeks | Baby 3.0

The Latest and Greatest

Baby girl can now squint, frown, pee, and suck her thumb! She's stretching out and moving a ton (I saw this during my ultrasound on Thursday--she was SO active!). She's developing lanugo all over her body. Her little tiny hands and feet are about a 1/2 inch long! Something about that little piece of information made me awe in admiration of the third little baby growing away in my belly.

How far along? 14 weeks

Baby's size: About 3.5 inches and 1.5 ounces--the size of a lemon.

Total weight gain: 7 pounds (HOW did that happen??!)

Maternity clothes: I'm still about half-half at this point.

Sleep: We got new pillows and it seems to be going much better!

Best moments this past week: The past 24 hours. I absolutely LOVE my littlest babe more than life itself, but she's been a Nana's since yesterday afternoon. I'm counting down the minutes for her return in just a couple hours, but I forgot how easy life is with just one (self-sufficient!) child. We took Ellie out for a date night and had such a great time. I feel so refreshed! Mother of the year, I know. I also saw Baby Girl at my appointment Thursday and loved seeing how BIG she is!

Missing: ALLTHEWINE. I don't foresee this answer changing anytime soon ever.

Movement: I think I might be feeling little flutters inside, but I'm still not 100% just yet. It just seems really early, but my OB said it is possible being the third baby.

Labor signs: Nope!

Baby's sex: GIRL! Name TBD...

Symptoms: Other than exhaustion (let's be real, I have two young children) and pelvic pain, I essentially don't feel pregnant at this point. One of the perks of the 2nd trimester!

Aversions/Craving: I'm craving things that are cold-- chocolate almond milk, smoothies, ice cream.

Belly button: In

Wedding rings: On

Mood: Let's just say it's been a hormonal week!

Looking forward to: Celebrating Easter next weekend. I love the holidays with my littles. :)

FOURTEEN WEEKS!

13 weeks | Baby 3.0

The Latest and Greatest

Baby girl has fingerprints and apparently more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Her veins and organs are all visible through her skin and her head still makes up about a third of her body.

How far along? 13 weeks

Baby's size: almost 3 inches long and weighs an ounce--the size of a pea pod

Total weight gain: 5 pounds

Maternity clothes: About half and half at this point. I'm able to wear all my normal jeans/shorts, but I've started wearing quite a few maternity tops. I bought a bunch of shirts and dresses this weekend. Though come July, I probably won't even need clothes. Bring 7-9 months pregnant in 115 degree weather, NO THANK YOU.

Sleep: Horrible. I wake up no less than 86 times to pee. I can't get comfortable and my back is throbbing. I had to see a chiropractor twice a week for the second half of my pregnancy with Ellie. I really hope I'm not traveling back down that path...

Best moments this past week: A relaxing weekend! I spent time with the family, went shopping, out for a playdate, had lunch with a girlfriend..

Missing: ALLTHEWINE. I don't foresee this answer changing anytime soon ever.

Movement: Not yet!

Labor signs: Nope!

Baby's sex: GIRL! Name TBD...

Symptoms: I thought the nausea had subsided, but it resurfaced a couple times over the weekend. Other than that, I'm struggling to sleep and having horrible back pain. That's it!

Aversions/Craving: Still rockin the pop-tarts!

Belly button: In

Wedding rings: On

Mood: Other than my exhaustion getting the best of me on more than one occasion, I've been great!

Looking forward to: Spring break! I'm off work this week and even though I only work part-time, having an ENTIRE week to do what I want and spend with my girls feels great! I have another appointment on Thursday, which I'm looking forward to as well.

THIRTEEN WEEKS!

12 weeks | Baby 3.0

Rounding out 1st trimester...
again.

The Latest and Greatest

Baby will be changing a ton this week! Baby has reflexes, can open and close fingers, curl its toes, and start making sucking movements with its mouth. Eyes have moved from the side of its head to the front (more baby, less alien!) and ears are also in proper placement.

How far along? 12 weeks

Baby's size: over 2 inches long and weighs a half ounce--the size of a lime

Total weight gain: 4 pounds, back down a pound apparently

Maternity clothes: I announced at work this week and on facebook today, so pretty much everyone I know now knows. BRING ON THE MATERNITY CLOTHES!

Sleep: Slightly better at night, but I'm always tired. ALWAYS.

Best moments this past week: JP and I celebrated out 4 year wedding anniversary and it was absolutely perfect. It was also the night we found out baby's sex and though it wasn't what we were hoping for, we were very happy to find out baby is super healthy!

Missing: ALLTHEWINE. I don't foresee this answer changing anytime soon ever.

Movement: Not yet!

Labor signs: Nope!

Baby's sex: GIRL! Baby is all female.

Symptoms: The sickness is just about entirely gone, but the exhaustion is at a new all time high and I'm starting to get pregnancy migraines again, which is seriously worse than the sick feeling. I'm so sad about this.

Aversions/Craving: I'm still all about my chocolate almond milk. Anddd pop-tarts. Can't forget those!

Belly button: In

Wedding rings: On

Mood: I've been a legit glass case of emotion this week. From not expecting another pregnancy, to being positive it was a boy, to finding it out it's a girl is enough to send a hormonal pregnant lady off the deep end!

Looking forward to: Dinner tonight! Random, I know. But it's cooking and smells amazing. I can't even think past 6pm at this point because I'm drooling. BOOM!

TWELVE WEEKS!

11 weeks | Baby 3.0

Rounding out 1st trimester...
again.

The Latest and Greatest

Baby is almost fully formed. It kicks, stretches, and even hiccups by this point.
Tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear and bones are beginning to harden.

How far along? 11 weeks

Baby's size: over 1.5 inches long--the size of a fig

Total weight gain: 5 pounds

Maternity clothes: I bought a few maternity pieces over the weekend, which is only the start. I was hugely pregnant with both girls during the cold months. This time, my belly will be the beach ball at the ocean. Never been pregnant? Well, let me tell you. Being pregnant makes you feel 10-1 degrees hotter than the average person at any given moment. Add that to 115 degree summer temps and a summer baby. I MIGHT DIE.

Sleep: I spoke too soon last week. We're back to crap.

Best moments this past week: I had an appointment Thursday and we got to see baby moving around a TON. While I'm still learning to accept this pregnancy, it's also a relief at every appointment to know that baby is alive and doing well.

Missing: ALLTHEWINE. I don't foresee this answer changing for the next 30ish weeks. And Vegas. JP went to Vegas for his best friend's bachelor party this weekend. I may or may not have been feeling some serious jealous. For real, y'all.

Movement: Not yet!

Labor signs: Nope!

Baby's sex: We should know by the end of this week.

Symptoms: Still random waves of the flu and exhaustion seems to have hit me at an all time high.

Aversions/Craving: Craving random things--this week, almond chocolate milk and yogurt ice cream bars.

Belly button: In

Wedding rings: On

Mood: This week wasn't too bad, despite playing single parents for 48 hours. Luckily my mom was around for about half of it! :)

Looking forward to: Our 4 year wedding anniversary Wednesday and a SECOND date night Friday. Lucky week!

ELEVEN WEEKS!

10 weeks | Baby 3.0

Third time's a charm... right??
Or at least that's what I keep telling myself.

Surprised, much?

Not as much as we weeeeerree.

I'm not quite ready to venture down the story of how we landed here, but here we are.
Again. Baby Mullan 3.0 is on his or her way.

And, I'm T E N weeks. So, here goes!

Exactly how far I am is slightly up in the air at this point. However, according to what I think happened, I'm going with 10 weeks. My doctor seems to think I'm 4-5 days behind that. We'll see if he still feels the same way at my appointment on Thursday. So, until then I'm sticking to 10 weeks and due September 18th.

The Latest and Greatest

Baby's vital organs are in place and are beginning to function. Nails are forming on fingers and toes, baby's limbs can bend, and its head is about half the size of its body. Baby can swallow food and even kick, though it will obviously be some time before I feel it.

How far along? 10 weeks.. I think.

Baby's size: over an inch long and a quarter ounce--the size of a kumquat

Total weight gain: 4 pounds

Maternity clothes: I've busted out a few tops, but I only wear them around people that know I'm pregnant. It's been SO hard to hide this time given that baby #3 practically shows up over night! (And by overnight, I mean like the night the baby is conceived!).

Sleep: It was rough to start, but has been a lot better the past couple weeks.

Best moments this past week: JP and I had a date night planned for Saturday that ended up not happening since we didn't have anyone to watch the girls. BUT we did make the most of it and went out for a family date night. It ended up being perfect!

Missing: ALLTHEWINE. There's just something about this baby not having been planned and therefore me missing alcohol way more than I ever did with the girls. We had sushi over the weekend and I was so bummed to have to stick to cooked rolls only.

Movement: Not yet!

Labor signs: Nope!

Baby's sex: We'll know in about two weeks.

Symptoms: Waves of the stomach flu happen less and less, fortunately. I still struggle first thing in the morning and usually right before bed. I get dizzy quite a bit too.

Aversions/Craving: There isn't anything I have to have all the time or things that consistently gross me out, but I'll make an entire meal and decide I can't eat it. I'll end up eating cereal or crackers at like 9pm. I also crave random things I never eat (top ramen, spaghetti-oh's, tea, cheeseburgers).

Belly button: In

Wedding rings: On

Mood: This honestly varies by the day. I think it's safe to say I've been pretty bipolar this go around. My poor husband!

Looking forward to: My appointment on Thursday. We're doing the Harmony test, so we'll know baby's sex by the end of the next week!

And, here you have it, folks.
22 weeks.

Just kidding. TEN WEEKS!
But it looks like 22, right?

Emerson | 11 months

Baby girl is just one month shy of being a year. I just can't believe it!! :(

My 11 month princess!

pics

| growth |
Em still hovers around the 21 pound mark. She's wearing 9-12 and 12 month clothes and is in size 3 shoes.

| eating |
The kids loves everything pretty much. She's still getting Beechnut veggie pouches here and there, mostly when we're out and about. She's starting to prefer the carb stuff more, just like her sister did around this age. She still wants to nurse all day every day as well, which is fun.

| sleeping |
We're still doing well here, thankfully. She's up once a night most nights but is also up for the day around 6 am. I usually nurse her when she wakes up, but it only lasts for a  few minutes. Beggars can't be choosers, I suppose?? She's still napping twice a day, but they're hardly ever longer than an hour. Unfortunately.

| personality |
With this new ability to walk, she is ALL OVER THE HOUSE and into EVERYTHING. She's so mischievous and fearless. I seriously have to keep one eye on her at all times. The kid can't be trusted! For real. She loves this new independence and is really good at playing on her own and keeping herself occupied. She also LOVES Ellie, which depending on the time of day is sometimes reciprocated and sometimes not so much. When they do play together it's so cute though!

| new developments |
We officially have a walker. She's still really clumsy and falls a ton. Her feet are slightly pigeon toed, which I'm slightly worried about and will be talking to her pediatrician about at her one year appointment next month. She has 4 teeth. She's signing pretty well and knows more, all done, milk, and we're working on please and thank you. She says a handful of words (more, mama, dada, dog).

| likes |
Lily (our littlest dog), playing in cabinets, dancing, she's still obsessed with water, and baby dolls. She also has a newly developed love for books, which is ADORABLE. She'll grab a book and come plop herself in your lap. Haha!

| dislikes |
Milk out of a sippy cup.

Apparently I really struggled to take pictures on my big camera this month!

Emerson | 10 months

TEN MONTHS

Oh, how this babe is developing quite the personality! We love the perfect little addition she's been to our family and she certainly keeps us on our toes!

| growth |
Em weighs about 21 pounds. Looks like she's taking after big sis who was 25 pounds at a year! Ahh! She's wearing 9-12 month clothes and size 4 diapers. We're in size 2 shoes, but I think we're nearing size 3 pretty quick.

| eating |
I'm still nursing, which she prefers above all else. She's eating a ton though. She pretty much eats what we eat within reason. Her favorites are all the fruits.

| sleeping |
It looks like that one long drive back from Cali turned on the switch she needed. She's up once, sometimes twice a night now. I'll take it. It's SO much better than the 5-10 times she was doing! Naps are still hit or miss, anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and a half.

| personality |
Miss Em is still super happy and giddy all the time. She loves singing and bouncing ("dancing") and just constantly wants to be on the move. She has SO MUCH ENERGY. I swear, she crawls a mile a minute. I'm beginning to wonder if she'll ever walk because she's such a speedy crawler!

| new developments |
She's starting to walk along everything she can. She'll let go and take a step from one thing to another, but has yet to gain the courage to take a couple. She has 3 teeth. She's getting really good and letting us know when she wants something or is upset. How you might ask? By pinching, pulling, and hitting. It's lovely.

| likes |
The wagon--she loves going on walks outside in the wagon. She loves animals, though we're still learning how to be gentle. Also on her list of favorites: baths, food, her sister, and playing in cabinets.

| dislikes |
With the whole attachment issue as of late, she's not too fond of being dropped off at school two days a week. :(

Emerson | 9 months

9 months!!

I can't believe our itty (not so) bitty peanut is already over 3/4 a year old. I've started researching ideas for her first birthday and I'm having flashbacks to planning Ellie's first birthday. I can't believe were yet again...already! Time is flying, folks!

| growth |
We had Emerson's 9 month appointment this morning and she weighs about 20 pounds. She's wearing 9 and 12 month clothes and size 4 diapers.

| eating |
She still loves the boob, but she has become THE MOST distracted baby EVER. She'll nurse for maybe 30 seconds, but then she has to stop, look around, and see what's going on. Cant's miss the party, people!
She also want to stand, lay upside down, and basically put herself into every awkward position possible while nursing, other than laying down like a normal baby. So, it's become somewhat of a tedious process. She's eating more and more people food rather than baby food with lunch and dinner. Her favorite tend to be sweet potatoes, bananas (or any fruit really), cheerios, and yogurt. She's also eating a lot of people food at school.

| sleeping |
I *think* (please, please sweet baby Jesus!) we've turned a corner. On our way home from California last week she cried (screamed) for an hour straight before falling asleep for the rest of the drive. It was like 8pm and we were already scheduled to arrive home around midnight, so there was no way we were stopping and delaying our drive any further. She's been a new baby ever since. I can lay her down awake, she fusses for a couple minutes before falling asleep. She sleeps in at least 3-4 hour stretches and I'm getting up to nurse usually twice a night. It's been AMAZING. She's also sleeping in her own bed throughout the whole night -- another milestone I never thought we'd reach. She's going down without a fight for naps and is napping for at least an hour each time.
I seriously feel like a new woman!

| personality |
You guys, this baby is SO funny. She's constantly smiling, laughing, and making crazy sounds. She's so independent and can entertain herself forever. But she also loves playing with everything and anyone. She continues to be the happiest, most bubbly little baby I know. We constantly get comments from strangers-- "Is she always that happy?" or "Wow, she's so smiley!" or "Does she ever stop smiling?" She's such a little flirt!

| new developments |
Since learning to crawl, this baby is ALL OVER and into EVERYTHING. She is constantly finding new things to destroy, pulling herself up onto everything, climbing over things, and has started cruising along furniture a bit. She can stand for maybe 5 seconds on her own without holding onto anything, but then carefully sets herself down. Her first tooth {finally} popped through. She waves to say hello and she's trying SO hard to clap. It's adorable!

| likes |
Food continues to be this girl's one true love. She likes trying to feed herself with silverware, taking things from Ellie, crawling all over the dogs and playing with their ears, the beach, SAND!!, and jumping. And she's still obsessed with hair.

| dislikes |
When I leave the room -- she's entered the mama separation anxiety phase. :(
